I’m in the thick of it: HOLIDAY PRODUCTION – creating beauty; assembling books and gifts for galleries and the Artisan shows. At night, if we watch television, my stomach turns to see that the advertising campaigns have already begun- for all kinds of products that have nothing to do with love and spirit. Sometimes I begin to worry that I am participating in the crass commercialization of the holidays, and must remind myself over and again that my books and gifts reflect love, light, tenderness, joy- all things we wish for each other.
I once brainstormed a list of wonderful intangibles called The Best Things in Life Aren’t Things. Today I created a pdf poster for the fridge, the bulletin board- a jumping off place for people to remember their own forgotten treasures. May it provide some harmony and inspiration in the season to come.

Lovely. Thank you so very much. I love reading all those deliciously evocative words.
Good luck with your holiday producing, and OMG I can not imagine how you could possibly even a smidge be “participating in the crass commercialization of the holidays.”
Ingrid, thank you for this. your creation is absolutely beautiful. To think of an alphabet of simple things, of remembrance, of how life CAN be (how we can be) is priceless. With your permission, I will share this link on my website so others can come pick up their copies. Let’s spread the message of the love of simple things and pleasures …
Thank you, Ingrid, for this beautiful reminder of the simple things we can be grateful for in this season when frantic buying seems to overpower the spiritual message of hope and love. I’ve printed several copies for my sacred space and to share with those I hold dear. Blessings to you and your family!
Thank you Lori, Jan, and Jeanne- this was so satisfying to assemble. Yes, Jan, feel free to share the link!
