My beautiful family, all on the couch. Jonah is modelling last week’s snow day quilt creation, made from upholstery fabric samples. Sometimes making big-patched crazy quilts is so satisfying. The quilt on Bella (in the middle) is my first ever, now 17 years old. I made it when I was expecting Rose, reading the entire set of Little House on The Prairie books, and dreaming of what our family life might be. The purply quilt is one I made when I was expecting Isabella and in the nesting way. It has souvenir patches from special dresses- like the one I wore on Star Search a million moons ago…
Which reminds me: Last year I made a YOUTUBE VALENTINE with my song, “I symphony You.” This is a song women used to ask me to sing to their husbands for them- and it even prompted a wedding! And here’s a link to my album, Savor The Days, which I made right before Bella was born. Motherhood (and living on an island) made performing too challenging for me, so public music has just about become a past-life thing. But the girls have started to play, and I’m beginning to remember that it’s fun!

You’re a quilter!!! I never knew!! I started quilting when I was pregnant with my first, Abbey. Now I’m starting a quilt for her little sister going away to college. But wait — wasn’t the first one just yesterday? Thanks for reminding me.
