What's Your Bliss? by Ingrid Goff-Maidoff"We are shaped and fashioned by what we love." Bliss is an expression of the Internal Joy we feel when we respond to the calling toward our particular work. Only then will we be living the life most authentic to us. To learn what your own particular bliss is, you have to ask yourself a lot of questions: What, in your deepest heart, do you feel called to do in your life? The only person who can answer these questions for you IS you. Don't look toward others to provide your answers. They might not be true for you. Listen to your Self, the place inside you that knows truth, love, and peace. Rumi said, "Everyone has been made for some particular work, and the desire for that work has been put in every heart." To touch the truth, the joy, and the bliss within us requires a slowing down to listen to the heart. Meditation, reflection, and journaling are valuable tools in this process. When you learn what life is calling you to do, you will have found your bliss. Finding that bliss, begin to follow it. Following your bliss, you respond to the challenges your life offers with as much grace, faith, and love as you can, until soon you aren't just following your bliss, you are living it. In other words, be true to yourself. What's your bliss? Finding it, follow it, and soon you will be living it.
